Situated in one of the most convenient areas of London just around the corner from the splendid British Museum. Oxford Street and its world famous shopping, the bright lights of Theatreland, Soho, Holborn, and Covent Garden all border or belong to Bloomsbury.
All this and sightseeing, restaurants and pubs, and
the river Thames are all within walking distance. With the offices of the financial
district within easy reach.
Bloomsbury as we know it today dates from the 13th Century and the de Blumend
family. Branches of this family gave their name to many of the existing squares
and streets; Russell, Woburn, Tavistock, and Bedford Place itself on which
stands the Lonsdale Hotel. Steeped in history, the area retains much of the
flavour of an important part of London's and indeed England's heritage.
